International Women’s Day is a global celebration of women and their achievements. It also marks a call for action for accelerating gender parity and equality around the world.

Hivebrite is honored to partner with numerous women-focused communities.

To celebrate this day, we want to shine a light on these communities and the extraordinary work they are doing to advance gender parity and equality and empower every girl and woman.

GENUINE WOMEN

GENUINE WOMEN is a dynamic community of creative and authentic female entrepreneurs. Its goal is to help and support women develop their activities, and to do so has 3 main missions:

  1. To bring together women project leaders to facilitate connections, exchanges, and mutual aid because together we are stronger.
  2. To support the development of projects by sharing key tools and resources
  3. To increase the visibility of female entrepreneurs through their community profile and media partners throughout French-speaking Switzerland.

The community currently has more than 800 active members from all sectors of activity.

Emilie Hawlena, Founder, GENUINE WOMEN

“Because together we are stronger. Because, on the road to entrepreneurship, we need to surround ourselves with people who share the same values with whom we can co-create. Because an entrepreneur needs many tools to develop his activities.

I founded GENUINE WOMEN in 2017 to help and support women to launch their projects and develop their activities.”

Girl Up

Girl Up was founded by the UN Foundation in 2010 as an initiative to help support UN agencies that focus on adolescent girls.

Its leadership development program transforms girls by exposing them to new possibilities, improving their sense of confidence, and positioning them to be changemakers in their communities.

Sia Nowrojee, Senior Director, Global Community, Girl Up

“The unique thing about Girl Up is that we're a fast-growing movement of 85,000 girls participating in 4,500 clubs in 125 countries around the world. That's the power of community; it defies geographical barriers and allows for real connections to create real change. These leaders are advancing gender equality in their communities and contributing to a larger, global movement for the benefit of every girl, everywhere.”

The Fourth Floor

The Fourth Floor is an innovative membership community (and ecosystem). It democratizes access to under-the-radar startup board seats and investment opportunities by leveraging community and a digital platform, as a way to create wealth and drive systemic change.

By addressing the needs of two under-served populations simultaneously (women board candidates and women founders), it has essentially created a novel marketplace for board and investment opportunities where women are the primary participants and beneficiaries.

Breen Sullivan, Kat de Haen, and Sarah Feingold, Co-founders, The Fourth Floor

“Our Vision is to democratize access to money and power to level the playing field for women and drive systemic change.

Our community brings together differentiated networks in a single space dedicated to creating and exchanging mutually beneficial opportunities. This helps us achieve our mission:  increasing the number of women on boards and cap tables of women-led startups so we can initiate and advance for-profit board careers and investment portfolios, empower women entrepreneurs and ensure women’s access to capital.

With our community, we will unleash an incredible amount of untapped wealth creation and innovation into the world!”
