JA Alumni Europe is a member of JA Worldwide, one of the world's largest and most impactful youth-serving NGOs. It provides hands-on, immersive educational programs to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
Hivebrite was the proud platinum sponsor of the JA Alumni Europe Conference, which took place in Strasbourg, France, from August 24-28th, 2022. The event reunited JA alumni in person for the first time in three years to celebrate entrepreneurship and innovation while enjoying incomparable opportunities for networking.
A Historical Partnership
JA Worldwide benefits from a hugely diverse global network of alumni with different passions, skill sets, languages, and ambitions. In addition to the conference, JA Worldwide has an online community, Gather, powered by Hivebrite, to connect its alumni and further strengthen the reach and impact of its programs.
Gather currently counts over 50,000 members and has 110 sub-communities based on location and interest within its wider community. These sub-communities are run by over 250 alumni leaders, saving the core-team effort and time while increasing engagement and impact.

The five-day event welcomed more than 200 alumni from 39 countries and offered more than 20 inspiring keynotes and thought-provoking workshops. Hivebrite's CEO and Founder, Jean Hamon, presented a keynote to share his insights and lessons from his entrepreneurial journey.
During the event, the Hivebrite team ran a live hackathon on how to create a community platform that brings value to members and drives engagement to generate ideas and inspiration from an end-user perspective.
The event was also an opportunity to interview end users of Hivebrite's platform to better understand their experience with it and identify areas for growth and improvement. The team also ran an interactive workshop for platform end users on how to be a community leader.
Supporting the Next Generation of Change Makers and Leaders
This year, JA Worldwide was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for its work creating pathways to employability, job creation, and financial success for young people worldwide. To add to this monumental achievement, the organization also announced a record-breaking US$38.8 million gift from American philanthropist MacKenzie Scott in August.
JA Worldwide aims to increase its online community to one million members in the next five years. The organization is off to a great start to achieving this objective and so much more!
